This project partnership has leveraged its diverse expertise to address the unique needs of various target groups, including differently abled students, academic and employer staff, practitioners, and trainers. While the partners had a solid foundation based on established rules for inclusivity, a more tailored approach was identified through separate needs analyses. Consequently, the partners will modify existing services to create a specialized service package catering to the needs of Differently Abled Students, HEI Staff, Employers, Stakeholders, and Practitioners.<\/span><\/p>\n

Innovation:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The innovation lies in a comprehensive analysis of advanced methodologies and current accessibility trends, resulting in a highly customized service package designed to facilitate access to relevant education and prepare staff to support the target groups throughout their transition from studying to work-based learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Impact:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This outcome will have a significant impact on the entire project, serving as a cornerstone for curriculum development and transition planning, as well as guiding advocacy and sustainability efforts. Beyond the partnership, it will empower target groups by providing them with a comprehensive set of tools for accessing high-quality education tailored to their needs. Additionally, HEI and employer staff will gain the means to include previously excluded Differently Abled Students in education and the job market.<\/span><\/p>\n

Transferability:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The State of the Art (SoA) and Service Pack will be adaptable for use with other hard-to-reach target groups, potentially aiding the transition of vulnerable populations into education and the labor market. During the foreseen activities of the course, students will be introduced to startups, focusing on the latest technologies, creation and development in areas such as new industries, energy (with concentration on renewable energy), circular economy, transport, robotics, agro industry, new and alternative trends, ecology and smart technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

The course will also examine the technological innovations based on the new chemistry, biology, physics, environmental achievements.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Students will be introduced to complex business plans in accordance with the following principles:<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

1. business area selection, the selection of chosen products or services;<\/span><\/p>\n

2. technological and economic analysis of the market dynamics;<\/span><\/p>\n

3. manufacturing cycle modeling (financial – economic evaluation)<\/span><\/p>\n

4. marketing strategy and tactics;<\/span><\/p>\n

5. compiling computer models for business, simulation of business scenarios.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

The course material will be based on good practice in the startup business. The curricula, due to the requirements of the target groups, will be adapted specifically to their needs and requirements. Suggestion from the professor: creation of the model business financing plan with a self-evaluation of the idea success rate; the course might need to be adapted to be less technical, however the students will have to have skills such as .xls for admission.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Target groups:<\/strong> students with hearing\/vision impairment, year 3-4. The partner universities have a course dedicated towards entrepreneurship. However, these courses generally tend to be quite technical and lack accessibility. In order to include the Differently Abled Students, the course material will be adapted based on R1.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Elements of innovation:<\/strong> the course, while in general based on technologic\/entrepreneurial innovation, will be upscaled to fit the needs of differently abled students, essentially becoming the first remote accessible curricula in the field.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Inclusion Europe Report, 2020, The employment rate of people with disabilities is 52%. The employment rate of people without disabilities is 76%. The employment gap is around 25%, showing an urgent need to take up measures for a more effective inclusion into the job market. The consortia aim to address this need with R3. The aim of this R is to facilitate the transition of Differently Abled Students into work-based learning after their studies through an innovative service pack aimed at employers. The main target group of this R is employers\/staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

During the preliminary needs analysis, the partners working primarily on the employer sector put emphasis on benefits gained by employers through the employment of Differently Abled Students. Firstly, the companies\/organisations benefit from numerous state-funded programmes aimed towards fostering the inclusion of differently abled employees; secondly, the observed benefits of employing Differently Abled Students manifest into long-term employee loyalty: Experience shows that young people with disabilities like to stay with their training company for a long time.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

The advantage:<\/strong> companies train for their own needs and do not immediately lose the young skilled workers to other companies. Furthermore, the employers get the chance to minimise the shortage of skilled\/educated individuals, which is an increasing problem in some of the regions; and finally, the students, through inclusion programmes, get a chance to familiarise themselves with the work place in generally lowerstress conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, while there are numerous tools and support for the transition of Differently Abled Students into WBL after studies, the consortia also noted a lack of support for employers in terms of practicalities such as ease of inclusion and training for the company staff. Therefore, there is a noted need for the service pack.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Transferability:<\/strong> the transition pack with the subsequent training programme for the employer staff will be fully transferable to different geographic, policy, disability and sector realities; while originally designed with the target groups (students with hearing\/vision impairment), the SP and training programme will be designed and adapted for maximum transferability and therefore will be ready-to-adapt\/use for all stakeholders interested in applying the SP in order to facilitate the transition of Differently Abled Students from studies to WBL.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
